Set across 16 acres of picturesque countryside, The Old Church Estate is a place where love stories unfold and once-in-a-lifetime moments are made. Surrounded by a serene rural landscape, the grounds feature beautifully landscaped gardens, sweeping lawns, and a working vegetable garden. At its heart stands a charming 1930s heritage church, complemented by a tranquil dam and winding walking paths that invite guests to explore and enjoy the estate with ease.
The Old Church
The Old Church is a beautifully preserved, heritage-listed 1930s wooden church. Seating up to 100 guests for an intimate dinner or styled for a traditionally romantic ceremony, it effortlessly adapts to your vision. As evening falls, —its timber floors and soaring interior create the perfect setting to dance the night away.
The Church houses a stunning bridal room and inside bar. It is lined with chandeliers offering a stunning, grand space to celebrate your love story.
The Vege Patch
The working Vege patch transforms into a magical open-air setting, perfect for a ceremony, cocktail hour or reception under the stars. It is an intimate, romantic atmosphere that feels both grounded and unforgettable.
This space is versatile and can accomodate up to 100 guests.
The Tipi
Our tipi offers a relaxed yet striking setting beneath the open sky, wrapped in warm festoon lighting that creates an inviting glow after sunset.
The tipi can be fully canvassed for an intimate, sheltered atmosphere, the sides can be lifted to create more space and allowing views over the property or, it can left open for dining, sipping cocktails, or dancing under the stars. With the sides up, this versatile structure comfortably seats up to 80 guests in a formal dining arrangement.
The Woodlands
The Woodlands offers a beautiful blank canvas ready to be transformed into the wedding setting you’ve always imagined. Nestled beneath the trees, it provides the perfect backdrop for your ceremony, cocktail hour, or an enchanting reception beneath the stars.
The natural canopy of trees creates a cool, serene setting to say “I do." As the sun begins to set, the space becomes truly magical—enhanced by soft festoon lighting overhead and catenary wire already in place, ready to support bespoke styling, hanging installations, and creative floral designs.
The Garden Pavilion
The Old Church Estate is set across a 16 acre country property. There are two pavilions on the property offering stunning photo opportunities for memories that last a lifetime. The Garden pergola offers a space for a first dance or family photos. The lawn pergola frames photos of the expansive lawns and offers the perfect golden hour backdrop.
The Butterfly Garden
The Butterfly Garden is a beautifully landscaped, shaded oasis, connected by a raised timber walkway that leads to an intimate deck—perfect for a ceremony or cocktail hour. The gardens provide a cool retreat on warmer days, along with stunning photo opportunities among fragrant gardenia hedges and thoughtfully placed sculptures. This space is ideal for our smaller wedding packages, accommodating up to 60 guests for a seated ceremony.

Acknowledgement of Country
The Old Church Estate acknowledges the Bundjalung people as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we are located, within the Richmond Valley and the hinterlands of Byron Bay.
